 Mr. Moore was elected as the second president of the California State Lawyers organization dedicated to the defense of individual citizens accused of DUI. Mr. Moore is currently on the board of directors. The first elected president was Ed Kuwatch , the famous author and publisher of California Drunk Driving Law, the bible of DUI defense. 

Many years ago, California criminal defense Attorneys established the Deuce Defenders to inform, educate, and encourage a winning attitude among lawyers wishing to provide the very best possible defense against the Government's prosecution of individuals for DUI. Constitutional protection against Government overreaching is a core belief that bonds these lawyers together.

 Public hysteria accompanied by ever increasingly draconian DUI laws and punishments were seen as alarming . Breath testing for "BAC" or blood alcohol concentration is usually the most damning evidence that an individual accused of DUI will face. In California it is used to support a separate DUI offense for BAC above .08 %. Frequently breath testing is used at the scene of the stop and arrest to justify the arrest. Breath tests are not infallible. In fact, most people would be shocked to learn of the numerous defects and deficiencies inherent in using breath tests to accurately report an individuals true/real BAC.
Challenges against the use of breath test results by prosecutors are numerous and if successful may result in dismissal of the DUI charge, reduction to a less serious offense, or winning against a license suspension. It is apparent that an Attorney skilled in the workings of breath testing devices has a serious advantage in ability to defend against the DUI charge .
